Sunburst sensors manufactures 3 models of the SAMI-CO₂ : The SAMI-CO₂ 100 and the SAMI-CO₂ 1500, both intended for moored deployment, and the Flow-Thru SAMI-CO₂, which is intended for shipboard use.

SAMI-CO₂ Sensor
Maximum deployment depth: ~100 meters

The SAMI-CO₂ (Submersible Autonomous Moored Instrument) is a renewable reagent fiber optic sensor for measuring partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO₂) in water. It is capable of measuring the pCO₂ unattended for up to one year. Its PVC housing is rated to withstand pressures to 100 meters.

SAMI-CO₂-1500
Maximum deployment depth: ~1500 meters

The SAMI-CO₂-1500 is a renewable reagent fiber optic sensor for measuring the partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO₂) in water. It is capable of measuring pCO₂ over a range of approximately 0-2000 µatm with a precision of ~ 1 µatm @ 360 µatm unattended for up to one year. It has an anodized aluminum pressure housing with a maximum deployment depth of 1,500 meters.

 Flow-Thru SAMI-CO₂

The Flow Thru SAMI-CO₂ is designed to be placed on volunteer observing ships or research vessels. It is plumbed into a shipboard seawater system. It is identical to the Moored SAMI-CO₂ except for a water tight, plumbed PVC housing around the top of the unit with fittings for water to flow through the interior of the chamber.
