(ANIMATE)


• ANIMATE is a European Union funded program to examine the processes that control carbon cycling in the North Atlantic Ocean.


• Three deep ocean moorings (PAP, CIS and ESTOC) have been deployed since 2002 (see below), continuously recording physical, chemical, and biological parameters, including seawater pCO2.



• SAMI data from the CIS site are shown below.



• Professor Arne Koertzinger from the University of Kiel is the lead investigator.
