Field Study 1

NOAA's Coral Reef Early Warning System

• SAMI-CO2 sensors are being deployed as part of the U.S. National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Coral Reef Early Warning System (CREWS website)

• Monitoring of CO2 in coral reef ecosystems will enable researchers to understand the impact of increasing CO2 levels on coral health.

• SAMIs are or have been deployed at North Norman's Reef in the Bahamas.

• Dr. Chris Langdon at the University of Miami and Dr. Jim Hendee at NOAA-AOML in Miami oversee the CREWS project.
